5G Music Memory
Research suggests that listening to or singing songs can provide emotional and behavioral benefits for people with Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia. Musical memories are often preserved in Alzheimer's disease because key brain areas linked to musical memory are relatively undamaged by the disease. Here at ADSP we lovingly refer to our senior citizen participants as 5G's. In order to combat signs of dementia we are looking to donate ipods to our 5G's fully equipped with music downloaded from specific eras that will incite positive emotions and unlock areas of memory in the prefrontal cortex.

ADSP "Seek and Find" Virtual Father Mentorship Project
According to the US Census 19.5 Billion children,(1 in 4 children) are living in a household without a father. It is no secret that Fatherlessness is number one cause of truancy and poor academic performance. Not to mention the lack of identity. Without a male figure as a covering many young people search for an identity elsewhere. Seek and Find is a virtual mentorship program that pairs men with fatherless children. One of our objectives is to give men a second chance that are returning from state prisons for non violent crimes a chance to earn money by mentoring fatherless youth virtually. This mentoring consist of well being check-ins, grade reporting, and conflict resolution. All virtual meetings will be recorded and quality assurance will be supervised. Not only will the men earn a part time income but the children will benefit from the engagement.

"Love of God" Sierra Leone, School Restoration Project
In Calabatown Freetown, Sierra Leone, there is a dilapidated School, named "The Love of God" that serves a total of 300 students both in Primary and Secondary school. The school is mostly run by Volunteer Teachers and includes a Debating Society, Library, Quiz Team, and News Reading Board. Currently, the school building is in such bad condition that only one room is being used. The roof is at risk of caving in, and the stairway has no banners, yet children and teenagers flood the building to better themselves academically and socialize with their peers. This school serves many Orphans of War.
This devastating Civil War left tens of thousands of people killed and homeless. The War destroyed much of the Country's infrastructure, and many of the children were left without parents and an adequate education system. Education in Sierra Leone faces two major hurdles:
1. It is not easily accessible
2. It is not valued( especially for girls)
The Love of God Mission School, located at 59B Osman Lane, Calabatown Freetown, needs our help. The students have run-down desks, virtually no supplies, and sit in one room with one chalkboard. There is no access to computers or books.
We are looking to build the school up and make it safe and conducive to learning about college, entrepreneurship, and independence.
If you would like to donate money or supplies, please visit our donate page, and in the message type" Love of God" You will receive a handwritten thank you letter from one of the students and staff and a picture of how your contribution has changed the landscape of its mission.
